Ok.. so you are into shooting, so how about packing some paint balls with some kinda
goop or chem will smother or kill the mistletoe?

Due to this being on a very steep hillside and high in the trees in
most cases, I can't get up to it, so wrapping it is out, and most of
the main branches on all six trees are infected.

However, I've just spent some time using Phisherman's excellent
suggestion (in this thread) and blasting the stuff out by shooting
(30-06 hollow point rounds) at the point where the mistletoe comes out
of the branch. Got most of it, MUCH easier than pole-pruning it as I
did earlier this year. (and I was able to get the high stuff too!)

Lower down in the page you pointed me to, I saw;

used as directed by the label to control mistletoe in dormant host
trees. To be effective, the mistletoe must also be dormant and the
spray must thoroughly wet the mistletoe foliage. Mistletoe comes out
of dormancy before most trees, so the ideal time to treat is from
November 1 through the end of January. By treating when trees are
dormant, the tree foliage will not get in the way of the treatment and
the mistletoe clumps are more visible than when leaves are on the
tree. Spraying provides only temporary control, especially on
well-established infestations, by causing some of the mistletoe plant
to fall off. The mistletoe will soon regrow at the same point,
requiring retreatment. "

I'll give that a try in the spring it keeps growing back. I think I
can rig up an extension pole for a sprayer to get high enough.
