Default Clematis question

Hi,
Recently DirectTV came over to install a new line from the dish. I found out
when I came home from work, my trellis had been taken out of the ground and
placed in the yard. This trellis had a clematis growing on it. Is it ok that
the vines that were on it were ripped off with the trellis, and when will it
show itself enough that I can put the trellis back? I'm not exactly sure where
it is in the garden. I live in zone 6 in MA.
Thanks for any help.
-Margaret
