Default Spraying Weeds in Ice Plant?

I have weeds that have infested the ice plant growing on my hill. Is
there a weed killing spray that will kill the broad-leaf weeds without
killing my ice plant?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If your hill has a significant slope, the best advice is to
eliminate the ice plant. Ice plant was a factor in causing the
surface of my hill to fail in a rain storm. My county removed ice
plant from its list of plants recommended for stabilizing slopes.
It becomes very heavy when thoroughly watered, but its roots do
not go sufficiently deep to hold it in place. It will not only
slide down a hill but also carry the surface of the hill with it.

Default Spraying Weeds in Ice Plant?

Hi John-
I have ice plant (and a few weeds) on my hillside, too. David is
right in that the plant has almost no root system. In fact, mine
grows right over large rocks without any soil, so it's obvious that
they don't even care if they have dirt to grow in. I am in a very dry
climate, so water-soaked plants sliding down the hill is not an issue
for me. As far as the weeds go, I get out there about once every 2
weeks or so with my dandelion digger to irradicate them. At first, it
seemed like a bit of a chore, but by keeping up with it and not let
the weeds get the upper hand, it's no big deal now, as long as I
remember to do it.
