Default Success With Bare-root Perennials?

I just put in some bare-root shasta daisies yesterday and I kept
thinking to myself, "man, are these things really going to grow or
not?"

So, that leads me to question: How successful are bare-root perennials?
Assuming they are planted correctly and maintained properly.
