(Naples, NY) 05/24/05 -- Katy Abraham, a longtime fixture in the
Rochester broadcasting and gardening communities, has died.

Katy and her husband of over 60 years, George "Doc" Abraham, hosted the
"Green Thumb" program which ran on WHAM radio for more than 50 years
and on 13WHAM TV in one form or another for 25 years. They taped their
last show three years ago.

The couple also wrote a gardening column that at one time reached 5
million readers. They also published 16 books on gardening.

Katy and Doc both graduated from Cornell University with double degrees
in horticulture and journalism. She and Doc were married in 1942.
During the war, she worked in a munitions plant in Ithaca while he was
stationed in North Africa.
