Thats right! Just tell'em it stinks and start making money. You know you
always wanted to tell'em...now you have a real reason to do it!!!

Those "stink' pipes are vent piping. Without them, the drain pipes will not
drain.
The builders went to fewer vent pipes because of whiney buyers who thought
they were ugly.
All municipalities have code in place that require vent piping. Most are
based in International Residential Code (IRC).

Introducing chemicals to the septic tank can kill the bacteria that eat
human feces and organic refuse. Stopping up the septic tank. Further,
these same chemicals go to the leech field after the septic tank. Which can
affect groundwater quality.

If the plumbing drains in a home are noticably smelly, there's something
wrong with the plumbing.
