What difference do you expect from cleaning the outside of a carburetor?
My experience is that problems such as poor idling and dying are
caused by the diaphragm which must be replaced (rebuild kit). Cleaning
the outside is OK as long as you don't clog up something in the process,
or worse, dissolve some plastic.
