How is the horse power determined for a lawn mower tractor?

Default mower hp ?
I want to get a new mowing tractor and need to know how to select the proper
horsepower.The area to mow is 3/4 acre with a 4% grade.

The HP (and style, and deck size) are dependent on how much money you have
to spend and how quickly you want the job done.

Usually by the engine hp.
