I've seen it all the way from ready made spray bottles requiring no dilution, to 50% concentrations where a gallon costs $90 and makes 80 gallons of solution. How true! Just one of my pet peeves is the adds in the paper for Roundup concentrate with a great looking price, and when you get there it is one of the none-concentrated concentrates (if that makes any sense). Since he was given the roundup and has no label, there is no way of knowing what concentration he has. I guess he could try something along the dilution you suggested and experiment. I have an old glass container of roundup (the good stuff-concentrate) I was thinking of using a small sponge paintbrush dipped in the roundup concentrate to kill nutgrass and ground ivy in my bermuda grass lawn. As long as the wet sponge makes contact with the unwanted weeds do you think this will be sufficient for their demise? the correct mixture for concentrate is 6 fl ounces (12 tbls) per gallon of water. dont waste it using it straight imho. -- Steve Touchstone home page http://www.sirinet.net/~stouchst/index.html |

what I have is "the good stuff"- I received it many moons ago from a friend in the business who told me it was
"stout stuff."..I see now that I need to actually dilute it to do any good.. "the good stuff" I can't remember if it is 53 or 57 per cent
glyphosate should be mixed at 2%. That is 2 1/2 table spoons per gallon. If you are using a wick applicator add an extra 2 table spoons. If you mix it any stronger you are going to burn the plant tissue and translocation will not happen. It's also measured by gallons per sg ft. So it depends on your application rate. -- GO# 40 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- http://NewsReader.Com/ 50 GB/Month |

at the rate of 1 TBSP per 32oz.. this roundup should last for a while especially when I am applying it with a 1"
wide sponge! thanx.. Dave G wrote: "the good stuff" I can't remember if it is 53 or 57 per cent glyphosate should be mixed at 2%. That is 2 1/2 table spoons per gallon. I do not understand your derogatory remarks about my friend.. is this because
he gave me roundup concentrate? wrote: Carl e Roberts wrote: what I have is "the good stuff"- I received it many moons ago from a friend in the business who told me it was "stout stuff."..I see now that I need to actually dilute it to do any good.. I know for a fact that it is roundup concentrate.. but since it was given to me a long time ago I
do not remember the mix rates. I will mix it at the rate of 5 TBSP per gal. tommyboy wrote: Carl e Roberts wrote in message ... sorry.. these were my words-not his.. this was given to me (kept in a glass one liter TAB bottle) probably 15+ years ago and all I remember was that this was the concentrated form of roundup.. look - if you don't know what kind of chemical you have and don't know how to mix it or use it, i suggest that you throw it away and go to home depot or walmart and buy some new stuff for $10. |
