Default Looking forward to plastic flowers blooming

Being plant people, I bet you feel the same as I do.

I have a retirement home on one of my mail routes. Sweet people, always
happy to see me. I was taken back by what the Retirement Home's management
decided to do this year...Hang artificial flower baskets instead of real
ones. I was ticked. we had such a long winter here that when we finally saw
the spring flowers, It was a good feeling. New blooms always do that for me.
Something to get excited about. Those fake plants have no life- and these
folks still do.

We wouldn't plant flowers if we didn't look forward to tomorrow. No matter
what our age

I HATE plastic flowers. My SIL has silk "orchids" all over her house.
Yuck.

Silk orchids that probably have the flowers turned all different ways so
they look very unnatural? I hate that.

I hate when I go into a store and they have a pot of fake silk orchids and
no one has taken the time to orient the flowers so they are in the correct
position.

UGH!

Fake flowers..........aaarrrgh! My mother used to have them. And I know
people here in S. FL who have those plastic philodendrums. Makes my skin
crawl.

:-( Have a heart. :-( They are the ONLY flowers my mother and sisters don't
habitually kill! ;-)

In the hands of my sisters, the average life expectancy of a plant is about
a month. And suggestions on how to improve their results go in one ear and
out the other.

Cheers,

Ted

Okay, Ted, I stand corrected. OTOH, my mother could make an omelet look
like a dead chicken, so what's the big deal about a plastic plant??? LOL

I must say that was the only place that had the flowers in bad taste. Maybe
I was the only one to notice them, but that is one of the good parts of my
job, being able to see all the gardens. I can tolerate an indoor silk
arrangement but outside, its uncalled for

What is worse than plastic flowers is when they fade and aren't discarded.
Only place good for them is up where the watering is too hard to do or where
water would harm a table ( the beauty of old tables)
