Odtna. Susan Bogdanow 'Jennifer'
I purchased this seedling in June 2002 it was about 2" in height and a nice
lush green shade with several small p/b forming. I kept it in the coolest part of the house where it was not getting the ideal temp drops for night time, but during the day it was getting no more than 73F (Nighttime 70F). No direct sun exposure to sun, and it's getting a touch more light than my Phals. Because it's a seedling I've been trying to keep it on somewhat regular diet of GroMore 20-10-10. It's been growing well and developed some new little p/b's. Some of the tender leaves developed a slight tip burn which I've removed but nothing serious. I decreased the fertilizer dose and freed the plant from the ugly tip burns. In the past 3 weeks or so, I've noticed that the plant developed a very light green appearance, very light jade color and the leaves are not all as erect as they were before. I knocked it out of the potting medium (medium size bark a bit of NZ sphagnum moss, charcoal and perlite, in a 2 1/4" plastic pot) and the roots appeared white and healthy. This morning two older leaves on two different p/b's were brown and laying flat on the surface of the plant. 1- What is the correct green shade for this Odtna? 2- Just how much light does it need in the summer and winter? 3- Am I overfertilizing? Help will be greatly appreciated, Mariana Who finally got her power and cable connection back! |
