Default fungus in flask

Hello Dustin!

Can you post a picture on ABPO?

I saw some flask couple of weeks ago and I have also notice some white
fuzzy stuff in them and the seller told me that it happen sometime and was
very small root system!
I don`t know about that, any flask specialist out there?

Claude

Dustin,

If the white patch does not grow any bigger in size then the plants and the
patch will "coexist" in the bottle and both will survive over the next two
months. But, if the patch starts to grow then you have problems... it will
consume the surface of the agar and eventually run up the plants killing
them.

Most likely if you remove the plants from the flask now and rinse the plants
off well the fungus will die off when exposed to air for 24 hours and the
plants will survive if the roots are big enough. I would watch the patch
size over the next 5 days and then make my decision whether to deflask or
not.
