Why not let it just die? I think perhaps that would

Boy that is a sweeping generalization!

How can it be better for those of us (surely thousands and thousands)
that cannot visit a vendor? Many of us do no live close to suppliers.
And even for those that do, suppliers can often be specialists - that
is it is difficult to find certain genera. And we become more
discriminating, wanting specialty items.

That forces us to use internet (or similar) means to procure.

I guess in your view, we should never read the reviews of a movie in
the newspaper, take the advice of friends and relatives on where to eat
or buy a book because it is on the bestseller list?

And ofcourse, this leads to the conclusion that we would never want to
know that a resturant often left people sick because of poor food
handling, that the new release from your favorite artist was so poorly
mixed that it is a joke to listen to or that the ariline you plan to
fly on looses or destroys your luggage 85% of the time.

We rate everything.

Maybe it is better for you, I doubt that it is better for everyone.
