Default Poison Ivy Tree?

I saw one of these years ago, and now today here's another and I have
a camera with me

Tree, smooth grey trunk, about 15 feet tall, with apparently poison ivy
leaves.

What is it?

I didn't get in really close to investigate.

Purple and white Dame's Violet below. I was looking for a shot of
all 3 colors of these together, but it seems not to happen.

It appears to be a box elder (Acer negundo) that is often called "poison ivy
tree" as the trifoliate leaflets are remarkably similar to the nasty stuff.

Box elder, _Acer negundo_. It is a species of maple that has leaves
divided into leaflets [commonly not just three leaflets, leaves
with 5 or more may occur]. It's non-toxic as far as I know.

There do in fact exist trees or tall shrubs that are relatives of
poison ivy, but they don't look too much like box elder:

This rather invasive, fast-growing and weak-structured tree is called
Manitoba maple in Canada.
