Default Gardenia Spatulifolia

Rummaging in my drawers I found some seeds of G.S. forgotten for several
years.
About 17 years ago, I collected these seeds in Somalia; I planted them,
fresh, in a very moist bed of peat with success but, because a removal, the
small plants died.
Now I would like to seed them again, there is any hope they still are
viable?

Thanks for the help.
