Default Bacteria additives

I have used Bacta Pur Klear in my pond for the past 7 or 8 yrs. I know quite
a few believe bacteria supplements are "Snake Oil", but the stuff really
works for me. I get no accumulation of sludge on my pond floor with regular
doses (2 oz/1000 gal), but for the last 4 or 5 yrs the filamentous algae has
been a problem on my waterfall and the collector pond that feeds it from my
up-flow bio filter
This year, I had more dead plant material than usual in the spring on the
pond floor and decided to use Bacta Pur SludgeBuster as well to speed up the
decomposition of leaves etc. I a using 2 oz of each/week and it has done
it's job. The unexpected benefit is the absence of waterfall algae - there
is barely any present and I haven't had to pull it by the handfull at all
this year
I will be using both from now on
JME Gale :~)
