Default Summer pond - what's that?

Hi all.. :-)

Well was asked what a summer pond might be..

It's a regular but temporary pond for fish or invertebrates
that wouldn't survive cold winters outdoors..

So it is an outside pond in which fish or invertebrates (that need to
spend the winter inside) are put for the summer. Is that it?

Hi U2..

Well my fish and invertebrates from the warm-temperated
respectively subtropical zone..! Me, too.. But me, I'm used
to live an "emerged" life.. :-)

Yeah..! :-) I suppose my definition was wrong. The barrels
and summer ponds do overwinter outdoors - the summer pond
guests indoors (they have a secondary residence there)..!

We do something similar. We put platties and swords in our berm ponds
in the summer. In the winter we pull a bunch of the babies and run
them in an aquarium in my office. The next year, the survivors go
back in the pond. Those that evade capture get to become fish food in
the winter.
