I have a new neighbor who is on AOL and wants to read newsgroups. Can
someone here tell me how she can get to RPM please.

If she's using windows I believe she gets here the same way, through Outlook
Express. It should still be available to her. Then tell her to use a free
news service provider (NSP) such as aioe.org. You don't even have to
register.

I read the group through Google.
She should find 'groups' in Google's drop down menu.
Enter rec.ponds.moderated into the search spot and
click on 'search groups' and it will bring her here.
