Brass fittings
We have a small pond with 2 reasonable sized goldfish which has been established for some time. The pond itself is fibreglass I think with a waterfall feature using two fibreglass trays. I would like to add to the waterfall feature by using a large brass or more probably bronze tap, which is about 5 times larger than a common garden water tap. By directing the pump water through the tap and cracking it open will give the appearance of a tap dripping water into the existing trays. My question is...will anything from the brass/bronze (eg copper, zinc or tin) affect the fish? Thanks for any help, Rod -- op910au |

Thanks for any help, Rod -- op910au One of those (brass or bronze) should be fine I think as one of them was used for aquarium air valves in the past and should be safe I think. Sorry, I don't know much more than that, all I can remember is that bronze I think is safe, or brass, find out first before you try anything, nothing worse than slowly poisoning your pets without doing research. Good luck and later! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (MingW32) - WinPT 0.7.96rc1 iQD1AwUBQ4LZua2WfcjE5myzAQJPrgcAkqjP/vbrr9MlDJ41OMs+GdZ2vtbK/DI/ Jl/izim9PaO660IjN3p3R/stMyzyOyRCiKAbQ+K0iGD8k8IuaSxAJ4+qGaSgkM3M rqM+vwqIfv+VfvU6eycF63iJcc8zUruoqnWo1rg8Zr42PDnHO9 62oOiIAvhXbj3I mVXbsQwE9spVj0CYyBFFhEszb6AgPVdnn4NEBGO1JtSVGSVswy 1LYn0GleKF7/CJ xbMW1T2auk55JSVcNCfN80NNwPqSgvuTeTvSA82t72lnLmI5sR E9bzo3VlAmBAST 2bfLnhIhrUY= =xZ4/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
