Nick, just sent you an E with my "real" e-mail address. If you send the
pics to me (assuming OP doesn't mind) I'll post them on my website. )
~ jan

Like wise, Nick. You can send it directly to my e-mail addy as well.

Thanks, Dale. I sent it to Jan last night. ;-)

Computer boy has it on my website, but hasn't explained to me how to get to
it. I sent him a HUH? E this morning. As a true geek though, he doesn't get
moving till noon. So hopefully soon I will have something.

But..... putting more work on Nick's shoulders, supposedly he knows the
thread where all the pictures are... if he can find it. ) ~ jan

That works. I also saw your comment to someone else that many ISPs make
provisions for their members to show pictures. Sure enough, Earthlink
offers that service, and a web builder as well.

See! :-)) Some folks don't know this unless the ISP tells them, and most
ISPs don't.

I'm not at all good at
this stuff, but I managed to get a few pictures in what Earthlink provides
me in a General Photo Album.

You'll learn as you try, you fail, you succeed........ you'll get there.
Don't give up!

I screwed up and didn't get the pages in
order, but I renamed them so that you can see them in order if you like.
http://home.earthlink.net/~ghekhuis/generalphotoalbum/

I saw only one HUGE pic of your house. You need to make pics SMALLER! No
more than about 600X600 pixels so people don't have to scroll all around to
see them. Also, so those on dial-up don't have to wait 5 minutes or more
for them to download. :-) If you need a photo program to do that there are
several free ones available. Ask on alt.comp.freeware.
All I found there was the one pic? Are there more?

Sorry. If I knew how to do a website, I'd try that. ;-(

You don't have to do a website. There are places where you can put up
a
few pics for free. Snapfish is easy to use. Then everyone can enjoy
the
pics. :-)

I'll look into it. The pics are available to anyone who goes there?
Thanks.
===========================
Yes. All you do is post the URL and they get to see your pics. Just
follow the easy instructions at these free pic sites. I recommended
Snapfish because it's the "easiest" to use.

I've got pictures on Snapfish right now, but I can't figure out how to let
anybody see them. Every time I follow their instructions, they want me to
put email addresses in for those who want to view them. I don't know who
(if anybody) would want to see my pond, much the email addresses. How do
you set it up so anyone can go there?

Done. There are three ponds on the property, one in front, one by the
house (the one I'm fussing with) and one out back. The middle pond is only
about 100 feet from the house. The deck rail that you see in the picture
with the dozer and loader is the rail of my back "porch."

Wow, the back, back pond is quite large & lovely. Looks like the front pond
needs some trimming around the edges so you can see it better. ~ jan

The back pond is by far my favorite. It's just so far back I doubt I could
ever get power or anything back there. It's got a bunch of yellow cannas
growing in the water there, turtles (big ones) love to hang out there,
frogs own the place (you can hear them all day, more of them at night, of
course, but you can listen to a good number any time of day, even in the
morning), and fish. I don't know much about fish, but aside from the
little mosquito eaters there must be some fairly large fish in there.
There's an old hand cast net left by a previous owner, and there's a system
of floats tied to some cable that goes to who knows what in the back corner
of the pond. I tried to pull the cable up one day when I was out in my
kayak. I used what is known as a "bottom brace" with my kayak paddle so I
could give the cable a pretty good tug, but I couldn't budge it. I've seen
some pretty big splashes in the water, but never could see what made them.

The middle pond I can get power to. Of course, previous owners here also
found they could get garbage to it. And they did. You wouldn't believe
what was in there. Aside from that chair you can see there was an old
bar-b-que stand, an old metal desk with metal, rusted drawers all over the
place, stuff we couldn't identify, all kinds of things. Now it's a big mud
puddle, but the frogs are already coming back in droves. Not only can I
hear them at night, they leap from the banks into the water as I go fussing
around the pond.

The front pond is far enough away from the house that you can't really see
it. Besides, one half of it is in rather unpleasant swampy, overgrown
boggy, wooded land, so I think I'll just leave it be. Still, it's the one
that has the cattails and lilies, and, of course, lots of frogs.

When I was a regular on rec.ponds, I used to post pics to
alt.binaries.aquaria, which is the binaries group for alt.aquaria. No
one in either group ever complained, although I did get razzed when I
posted a pic with the Subject: "Blue Heron" in rec.ponds, a non-binary
group! The Blue Heron is the scourge of pond fishkeepers. The post was
a pic of a bottle of Blue Heron beer.

Speaking of blue herons, here is a pic of one being eaten by a hawk. I
was walking in the woods yesterday and saw this heron just ambling along
minding his own buisness, when WHAM ... he was attacked by this hawk.
When I say "wham" I mean it sounded like two football players
colliding...and just seven or eight feet above my head. Anyway I got a
bunch of pics and it is food related...Hawks food.

I'll post the pic on alt.binaries aquaria as OT Take that, Blue Heron!
