veegie and bio filter questions

I'm building a new veggie filter for my 1700 gal. pond. I always used
a bio-filter and it worked great but so many people are telling me the
benefits of using a veggie filter so I decided to build one. I have
one question however. Should I put by bio-filter before or after the
water goes into the veggie filter?
