My lilies are shooting up leaves and the fish are spawning like rabbits on
viagra. The water got up to 60 degrees and so I was able to get in up to

my
navel (still chilly at the navel level!) and do some cleaning I should

have
done last fall.

$$ No spawning here yet but the koi are showing some interest in each other.
Eeeek! I hope I don't end up with a pond full of fry like the year before
last. Oh well, I sold them off and made enough to cover expenses. We've
already got several frogs out there.

The only odd thing is that I have a lot of mushy, dead WH this year. Those
of you expecting some from me may have to wait a few more weeks.

$$ Mine doesn't look like it'll survive until spring. The water lettuce
looks real good though. It thrives in an old fishtank over the winter.

Now if it would just stop raining long enough for the soil to dry up a
little.

$$ We have the same problem here in TN... rain, rain and more rain.

Huh?

Well, surely only a troll would be telling us how nice the weather is when
even the _salt_ water at my place is frozen solid enough to drive on :-)

At least it is March today.
Still getting a skim of ice on the ponds
but this week lows are supposed to be
in the thirties instead of the twenties.
We're making progress!

You need to add more salt.

I was just admiring the daffodils blooming out front the other day. Today I
wake up to a dusting of snow and another cold, cold, cold day here in middle
TN. It's up to 34 degrees now.

By the end of the month here in TN we will be much milder weather, but will
get some of those beautiful 60 degree days here and there. This time of
year I'm itching to get out and play with the ponds, my flower beds and
veggie patch. I'll probably just do tomatoes, peppers and zucchini again.
The first order of the day is once more removing the rocks from the 150
gallon inground pool so I can fix the leak once and for all.

move south. My sensitive fern is already putting out leaves and
buds.........and my garden is already sprouting...so why could someone
not have nice weather or is it because you don;t so you figure no one
else should either..............sheeeeeeeeeeesh!

I don' t play the smiley face game with folks that are hard to read or
understand with so many variations from post to post, as you can view
/ interpret posts a few different ways.

Oh, I get it. I must have been numb from the frigid water when I wrote that

And I was just telling another ponding friend: This is one of the reasons
I'm so glad I put in a pond for the native frogs, I don't dare remove the
leaves in the flower beds till they wake up. This usually keeps everything
else protected to. Otherwise, before, give me a nice day and a shop vac and
I'm out there vaccing up every leaf and stick that would fit down the tube.
