Default Cardinal flower

Lobelia cardinalis is a plant I put near one of the ponds because I'm
working with purple and chartreuse foliage. The thing I'm not sure of
is this variety. They don't give a variety name, but the foliage is
very dark. Does anyone have a clue what form this is? If so, does it
get as large as it's mother plant?

Thanks,
Victoria
