Default Companion Plants

Getting my hair cut today, my barber told me about the use of companion
plants. At least I he said "companion something". He was talking about
avoiding mixing certain leaves in compost because the plants the compost was
spread on, didn't like them. For example, certain plants don't like pecan
leaves. I believe he said tomatoes don't like oak leaves (Oops!)
