Default Night wasp?

I remember seeing these one or two nights last year about this time,
and saw several around my patio light Thurs night, and I'm wondering
what they are.

These wasps are quite pale, honey-colored or like a mealworm in color,
no dark stripes, but very pronounced segmentation to long abdomens,
and clear-looking wings. I've never seen one in the daytime.

They were paler and not quite as large or stocky as the red wasps
I've seen in the daytime. Maybe about the length of a dirt-dauber,
or a little longer.

I'd intended to get a picture in the morning of one that I'd swatted, but
the body either blew away or perhaps was eaten by a bird.

This photo on the net was the closing thing I could find.
It resembles them in pale color, but I think the abdomens were not
as narrow as these, with less of a "waist".
