Can someone help me?

I have sown the Pea Kelvedon Wonder. How can I support them, as this is the first time I have grown peas. This variety grows to 18 inches (45cm) high so the packet says.

Another question, when should I sow, as it says: For a continuous crop, sow at fortnightly intervals, when should I do this, after I have picked the last pods or well before?

Pea sticks inserted to overlap along either side of the rows is the traditional method, wire mesh secured to canes or stakes is an alternative method, or use proprietary bean/pea plastic netting for particularly tall varieties.

Peas sticks can be substituted with small branches stuck in the soil along the row.

The tendrils will attach themselves to the sticks/twigs and give support to you peas.

As far as repeat sowings are concerned, sow at three to four week intervals.

They mean sow some pea seeds every fortnight. Sow on May I, then May
14, May 28, etc.

Chicken wire tied on posts is the best method I've come accross (having used
pea sticks, pea netting, etc) and seems to be favoured by the RHS too. Lasts
very many years, is easy to erect and easy to dismantle, looks good, and the
peas are easy to pick (and you wont get a stick in the eye).

No, you sow every fortnight, so a fortnight after you planted the first lot
you plant the second.

But we have a problem that peas don't like the hotter summer weather and so
we plant all our peas, and we only use early varieties, in the spring and
freeze them. If we want another crop we plant early peas again in August to
crop in the autumn. We used to grow 4 varieties of tall maincrop peas but
latterly they just didn't crop so we gave up, just like them.

This foxes me, where do you place the wire/mesh in relation to the peas,
I am assuming that the row of peas are several peas wide. Do you run
the support down the centre of the row, are the supports put in before
sowing, after sowing or when a few inches high? I have always used pea
sticks which I lay over the row as soon as sowed (keeps the birds off)
then place them either side of the row once they are an inch or 2 high,
but non available this year. :-(
