Default Arched back leaves on Hibiscus

a hibiscus that i have had for a couple of years and keep indoors in a south
facing window has alway had a few white fly type things that i have kept
pretty much down by spraying with dilute soapy water.

this year i trimmed the top down a bit, since it was getting a bit tall.
subsequently the new growth of leaves seem rather small and the leaves are '
arched back on them themselves'. would this likely be the pruning, the
white fly or something else please? many thanks.
