Default Cheap Chinese Les Pauls...

Was on ebay last night and saw an
auction for a Les Paul.

The seller was in China and had an
extremely low opening bid at 3.01 GBP.

Ah!... A Cheap Chinese Les Paul.. Haven't
I seen similar before yet this same Cheap
Chinese dealer had probably more Les Pauls
than Gibsons.

Having noted in the past how Cheap Chinese
goods arriving in the UK can be a pile of
shite and often leave people who dabble in
it so skint that they turn to activities
such as fraud and drug dealing to survive
and keep their multiple wives and not being
from Exeter I was cautious so emailed the
seller if he wasn't simply a Cheap Chinese
****** trying it on.

Anyway, the seller assure me that his guitars
are the absolutely genuine item so buy a few
and take it up with ebay later.

BTW - Postage is 186 GBP

Some Chinese goods are of fair quality, and very reasonably priced!

However if you are obliged to buy several thousand units, then there is a
great temptation to have 7 thousand units, rather than 3.5 thousand of
greater quality, at the same price....................

The greed thing is largely responible for the generally held view that
Chinese goods are cheap and shoddy, and very possibly the reason why someone
with 7 thousand shoddy batteries, very quickly finds he is out of business!

I suggest you go over to uk.music.guitar group and read a few reviews on
these....

some have been bought and then re auctioned as original USA models so
beware.

the latest gossip Gibo is number 280003178244..........this one will tell a
few tales if original may fetch £20,000 +

A low price and high postage charges is a fairly common dodge by sellers to
avoid having to pay high final valuation fees.....
Having said that, even £189.01 is a phenomenally low price for any Gibson
guitar....
I'd be inclined to file this one under "If it seems too good to be true, it
probably is".....

?!?!?!??!
Crikey....You reckon it's genuine?....You reckon he really doesn't
understand or realise exactly what he's trying to sell?....There's nothing
tellingly obvious in the photographs to mark it as a fake, but then, some
fakes are awesomely good.....The only thing that rings alarm bells is the
incredibly good condition....Not even a belt buckle scratch on the
back......

I cried when I read this line "there was a old brown case with it but we
thown it away"

And my blood ran cold at this line "IVE HAD SO MANY ****S TRYING TO TELL ME
WHAT TO DO AND NOT WHAT TO DO IF YOU PIS ME OF IAM THE SORT OF BLOKE WHO
WILL JUST SMASH IT"

I suspect he's lying and here's my reaon....Look closely at the supplied
picture....In particular, look at the machine heads.....They don't look like
anything I've ever seen fitted to a Gibson guitar.....
They look like the sort of tuners you'd normally see fitted to lower-end
budget guitars.....

Besides, do Gibson list Fireburst as a colour in their catalogue?.....

It looks pretty genuine to me.....easy £2,000 or more if it's genuine
anyway. His telling people not to bid high will draw the bids like
woodworm & mice to a moldy guitar case during the last few hours.

So an original 57 Strat goes for $76,000 when you can get a decent new one
for $$1500. But a 58 LP would only go for $4000 when a decent new one would
cost you umm...$4000

Who said only??? I said 'easy £2,000 or more'.....probably a lot more, the
£2,000 was a previously mentioned amount.

Jon~

check out ebay.com, Gibson Les Paul, then highest bids...............$98,000
(11 bids) for a 57 sunburst that has some replaced parts.............

I think you can be confident that these are not real Les Pauls, and
therefore the vendor is lying, and therefore should not be bought from.
