Default Apple Trees

Hello,
sometime ago in the group it was mentioned of an apple tree growing wild in
I believe the Birmingham area on either a canal bank or railway side.

The tree had very large red fruits but was thought to be a cooker.

Can anybody give me information regarding this tree

Please reply group as my address is a spam trap.
