visit to Arran
I visited Janet's gardens at Arran last week and urglers would be
delighted to see that the advice Janet gives is well founded. The beauty of the gardens; form and colour is amazing and the variety of plants; dazzling. I realised what little gardening knowledge I had whilst there but Janet, lovely woman that she is, made me feel so comfortable and welcome that I forgot that she was an expert and she became a friend. For anyone who has not met Janet, she is slim, very pretty and younger than me - she has a delightful husband, John, who is a great host and chef. Thank you John and please may I have your recipe for the breakfast drink. I hope that you will be meeting Janet when she comes to a proposed urg meet at my house next year and I am really looking forward to possibly seeing Sacha, June, Kay, Sue, Janet Tweedy, JennyC, Cormaic, Jill Bell, Sally Thompson and Jane Ransom. Please don't bring any food or drink, it will be my pleasure to welcome you all and your families. -- Judith Lea |

I had a strong idea you'd get on like a house on fire! May we settle on the week end of 7/8 July for the SW meet here and possibly at Charlie's? My suggestion is that people come here on the Saturday and go on to Charlie's on the Sunday. However, urglers might find it easier to do Cornwall first and come here on their return journey 'up country'. I'm very happy to go with what is convenient to them and of course to Charlie and Liz! And I'd echo Judith's comments re food and drink. It's too far to haul such stuff down here and I'm sure we can manage very well if I bribe the tea room a bit, too! And yes, Judith, once we know the date of your meet we'll put it in the diary and make every effort to be there. No effort for me but if necessary, I'll hogtie Ray! ;-) -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.co.uk South Devon http://www.discoverdartmoor.co.uk/ |
