Considering that there are more meat eaters in this country that veggies,
can you please explain to me, why, if the meat industry is 'poisoning the
public', the public in general are living a lot longer and as proof, the
pensionable age is to be raised because of the shortfall in pension funds?

Thank you

Some are living longer, some arent. Many are dying far too early.
Cancers, CJD, Dementia etc.

Just because you're alright Jack, doesnt mean it's alright.

Wonder when they will publish the figures for those who have died from nut

Peanut allergies account for 50 to 100 deaths in the United States each year.
Some youngsters must eat at a peanut-free cafeteria table or even in an
isolated room. Some airlines have stopped serving peanuts to safeguard people
allergic to even a whiff of the nut.

Peanut allergies have been rising in recent decades. No one is sure why, but a
new study found that baby creams or lotions containing peanut oil may lead to
peanut allergies.

Babies whose rashes or eczema were soothed by such creams were more likely
to become allergic to peanuts than those whose creams did not include peanut
oil, said Dr. Gideon Lack of St. Mary's Hospital at Imperial College in London.

hate to say it Mike but you are asking them to justify a deeply held

Dear Jim: I certainly agree with your statement. Let's ask these
people like Geoff, just who and what they are, what gives them the
right to tear apart whole industries to satisfy their own predilections
to destroy the livelihoods of those who provide them the very
necessities of life?

waste of time, as pete is either a troll, who just says it to wind you up,
or a crank in which case he doesn't care anyway

more sense to look at the figures, more and more people in the world are
consuming more meat every year
but with the way that grain is going in bioethanol, and the way that oil
prices are going up, a lot of people in the apparently prosperous west are
suddenly going to discover that the vegetarian protein sources and more
interesting vegetables they are used to are going to become awfully
expensive.
I wonder how many will be keen on being vegetarian when their only
vegetables are those that grow seasonally in England

the petes of this world are going to discover that they can ignore reality
for as long as they like, but reality will not ignore them

The coarse fisherman could well eat better than they do in the next few
years ;-)

People live longer not because but in spite of meat they consume. We
see more and more frequent bans of meat imports due to health risks.
Some people stopped eating meat to protect their health while others
out of concern for the cruel treatment of animals.

"SOME"

I am so glad you put that in. And how many, or what % of the population
would that be? 2%? 5%? even 10%? (which I doubt) which still leaves a huge
majority not on your wavelength :-))

I hope you don't think the silent majority support animal abuse? As
the pro hunt loons found out, the silent majority counts for a lot.
