Hi Martin, how is it in Holland today, it's wet and windy and dreary

Exactly the same, but it's Saturday and to be expected.

I don't want to talk about Andy M.

That's fine Martin, I don't know Andy or anything about him so lets
move on to gardening.

Now that would be interesting because I seem to remember Andy 'Net
Nanny'
Mabbett was very keen on enforcing the '4 line signature' rule.

:-)))

I wonder if he would still be so keen under the circumstances ;-)))))

Let's see.

Over many years, I have found Andy Mabbett to be friendly and
knowledgeable. Perhaps he has got a bit fed-up with the carping on
Usenet?

Check out what Crowe has done to Mabbett on Usenet.

Why should I want to do that? As said, I have found Andy to be friendly
and knowledgeable. I am certainly not interested wasting time finding
out
what someone else thinks of him.

But this might tell you why Andy has decided to avoid this newsgroup!

It also means going to Google and trailing though past posts. I am not
that interested, have better things to do and find that activity rather
sordid.

Well I have to admit that if I would have to use google, I'd forget it as
well!

Alan

I think but am not sure, that he was on the demon new users' group.
User name similar to 'pigsmayfly' or something. Doesn't really matter
anyway. He's not here.

Andy was a popular and knowledgeable member of this group which, to this
group is all that matters, I suppose? Like a lot of us, he held strong
opinions but I never recall him being insulting or spiteful or writing
posts
just for the sake of annoying or hurting others.

Not here, just as Mike doesn't on all groups.

I don't really care what people do on other groups because they're not the
business of this group. It's only when people try to *use* people's posts to
other groups to stir up trouble in this (or that) group that it matters,
IMO. Following people round the internet and constantly referring to their
behaviour on 'other groups' is simply trying to make trouble in the
'innocent' group, it seems to me. The characters and dynamics of each group
are different, so people may well react differently on one to another. I
know what I think of the behaviour of certain people here, the good, the bad
and even the moderately attractive and here is what counts when I'm here.

Yes. Do you mean just like you followed me to ukfd and tried to get me
frog-marched out. Didn't work did it, Sacha?

June, I am really very, very sorry for you because your life seems to be one
never-ending grudge bearing whine.

I have found him to be obnoxious, a liar, cheat, criminal and fraud
who is very keen that his details should be removed from official
offices, and also keen to avoid ID cards. I wonder why? Is the answer
here.........

Considering Mabbett is usually the cause of much carping on usenet,
that's ironic!

Although to his credit these days, he is only 10% as obnoxious and
creepy as he used to be. He has been taught very hard lessons along
the way.
