Default tree identification?

Walking the Mortimer Trail in Shropshire, I passed through 'The
Warren' on the south side of Wapley Hill SO 346621.

I'm not very familiar with trees in the UK, but thought the deciduous
plantation flanking the path was beautiful and would like to know what
kind of trees these are. Beech, lime?

If nobody else can help, you could try:

or try on uk.rec.walking where some will know the stand of trees you
mention.
