Spuds....Summat for nowt
Came home after along weekend away celebrating SWMBO birthday and thought
about a barbecue 'cos it was a sunny day and a nice end to the weekend. Looking at the large plastic pot planter that had 2 old (Chitted in the fridge by accident) Maris Piper spuds chucked in it around late March, frequently earthed up, and watered, I dug in...... 18" square pot, 2 "free" plants, and water, produced 2.2kg of the *most* gorgeous tasting spuds for the barbecue. Washed, halved and boiled with a dob of butter on the top...Maaaaaaaaaaaarvelous! Now looking forward to harvesting the remaining planted Golden Wonder ones that are coming along nicely. Anyone any tips for fertilising etc of spuds? |
