Following up to Roger Hunt wrote: I have a good resident population of Hawkmoths as well, and they occasionally fly in. (The other night a red-green carpet moth flew in and sat for a good while by the keyboard near the light, looking very handsome.) if you should find yourself near Sevilla cathedral at night, but before the floodlights go out, look up at the myriad nightjars hunting moths. What a sight! What a slaughter! Some years ago a friend of mine would hang a white sheet over the line and shine a UV light at it. That attracted moths like anything.
