Default yellow leaves - Fuchsia & impatiens

I seem to have this problem each year - at some point the leaves on some of
my fuchsias and impatiens start turning yellow and then drop off (last year
one fuchsia ended being naked of leaves all together) - does anyone know
what causes this and is there something I can do?

Could be any of three things:
1 Waterlogged
2 To dry
3 need feeding

you decide which fits the bill :~)
