Default wisteria yellowing, how to fertilise

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum and pretty new to gardening too! I've just moved to a place with a garden which will need some looking after and have never had this responsibility before. The first thing I want to address is the wisteria which grows outside the back door, up the neighbour's wall. It would look lovely except that the leaves are very yellow and the person who was here before says it almost never flowers. The yellow colour suggests to me that it is in urgent need of food (some bits are slightly greener but not much) and I was wondering what is the best way to go about this. One problem is that it doesnt actually grow in a bed but comes straight out of the gravel which surrounds the patio, so it wouldn't be easy to dig up the soil and mix in manure or whatever would normally be used. Any suggestions are greatly welcomed!

Leaves are quite yellow to start with and if its made plenty of growth I
wouldn't be too quick to fertilize it (they grow fast enough as it is)
Try and find out when it was planted, which way it faces, and what sort of
wisteria it is, all have a bearing on when they start flowering. pruning the
long trials back to about 1' in length now can help (not cutting back in
winter which just makes it grow more)
