pete has scores of ids, he can spare more than a couple

Do you remember when he was Bishop Mbongo, Judge Dred, Ivanna
Humpalot....? If so, that really ages you ;-))

alas yes, all those names, he was George for a while as well

Didn't 'Pete' sometimes post under the name 'Jim Webster', too? Hence you
could stick to your own name and still be posting as 'Pete'. A cunning and
economical plan, what?

Very crafty and a grebeous slur. Hicc

afraid to stands up for what he believes in

Didn't you used to post as Pete before you got caught cooking the
books?

The point is that Pete is instantly recognisable from the syntax and
semantics of his/her/its posts, whatever name he/she/it chooses. So
your plan will only work if you imitate the style - the sincerest form
of flattery, of course, hence no-one here is going to do that.

Do we really have any notion of what he/she/it "believes in"? I
thought he/she/it was a fanatical ARist until I saw one of his/her/its
posts offering to shoot the dogs of foxhunters breaking the law. He/
she/it also seems happy with seal hunting as long as it by bona fide
Eskimos.

"Seem to be"? Good heavens have you been asleep? The entire history of
the Blair (now Brown) government has been the ruthless suppression of
free speech and the persecution of muslims.

Both America and the UK are putting into place laws that would prove very
useful to a party not wishing to put up with opposition.

"Putting into place"?

The US and UK have enacted draconian laws that remove the right to free
speech and permit detention without trial on a flimsy pretext.

Been chasing him for a while then! What happened, you bottle out? or
was he just too clever for you old farmboys!

Or was he using privileged information?

He had them chasing their tails. At one stage I think the claim was
Pete accounted for 98% of users on newsgroups! Still they play catch
up.

Avoid the rush at the last judgement. Be converted now instead!

PRAYER FOR A NATION

When Pastor Joe Wright, of Central Christian Church, was asked
to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting
the usual politically correct generalities.
But what they heard instead was this:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today to ask Your forgiveness
and seek your direction and guidance.
We know Your Word says,
‘Woe on those who call evil good,’ but that’s exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values.

We confess that:

We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it pluralism;

We have, worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism;

We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle;

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery;

We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation;

We have killed our unborn and called it choice;

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem;

We have abused power and called it political savvy;

We have coveted our neighbour’s possessions and called it ambition;

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression;

We have ridiculed the time-honoured values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, 0 God, and know our hearts today; try us and see if there be some wicked way in us;
cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have
been sent here by the people of Kansas, and who have been ordained by You, to govern this great state.

Grant them Your wisdom to rule and may their decisions direct us to the centre of Your will. I ask it in the name of Your Son, the Living Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.”
