We have to lose daylight, because if we didn't then when the Spring came,
we'd get longer and longer days every year until there was no night, which
would ruin the tourist trade in Hammerfest.

A grand idea. It transpires that the moorhens, not the rabbits, have eaten
my remaining plants on the riverside. Voracious things, especially the
chicks.

If they didn't look so nice, I'd be cross. But they *are* quite cute, so I
can't be.
