Sad, I know. They didn't even have a good innings, heh heh!

What four?

I think you're very wicket.

It's all over now.

Ducking and running?

and bowling naive blonde maidens over.

Now, hush, she's on an away fixture!

Not batting for the other side?

Playing for the home team.

The message
from Sacha contains these words:

We've had it hurling against the windows since early this morning. Now it's
stopped for a bit but the breeze is getting up again and it's a very black
horizon over there. We're going to lunch with someone who is moving to
Gloucestershire and wants to give Ray cuttings of some of her most precious
plants,

Coo!

so there's a fair chance we'll be drenched to the skin and blown to
Cornwall!

And which is worse?

Six, six, six - that's all you ever think about.

Well, I declare.

So, you're not all out for a win, then?

It's gone quiet here tonight and the rain has stopped, too. Let's just hope

Last night I checked today's forecast for my area, it was: Sunny
intervals up until early evening then heavy rain and thunderstorms. I
woke up this morning to thick fog and it's now raining. This means that
last nights forecast was 100% wrong, in fact I can't remember when we
last had a reasonably correct forecast in the last few months but I
suppose there must have been some.
While I appreciate it's a difficult art surely they, with all the super
computers etc they have, they could do better than this.

For a short term forecast I look at this:

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/

Animating it gives a good idea of what's coming in the next hour or
three.
