Default seedling - wotizzit?

I guess it's a Berberis or Mahonia, probably the latter:

Anyone confirm?

Could be. Worth giving a chance, I'd say.

I have a lot of mahonia and it looks like the seedlings I get. The other
alternative was berberis, wasn't it? I can't offer an opinion on that as I
don't have any berberis.
Unless it's a holly?

Thanks - that's my first choice.

Oh, I shall. Weeded round it yesterday, potting it up today.

No, it's not holly - I know what those look like.

I did have two different berberis bushes, but they had to go due to
being in the way of projects. One went to a neighbour earlier this year
and is doing well, the other was too firmly established.

I still have the Mahonia thobut.
