They can be a bit 'off' with strangers Judith and they can be prone to what is termed 'separation anxiety' in that when you go away they miss you so much that they can stop eating, pine, howl, *or do any number of weird things. They are very placid generally though I'm not sure what they are like with other dogs if you intend to walk her. Might give those French poodles a bit of a turn. So to speak. OT - My dog
In article
, Judith in France writes I took her for a walk in town with traffic, other dogs, people, she was a darling and very obedient. She is about a year old, Sounds like you've got the one you wanted anyway Judith I pick her up when I return from holiday at the end of March. Why don't they let them go to their new homes earlier? Generally over here you get a puppy at about 7-8 weeks of age. Mind you having her a bit older means you can socialise her straight away. What will you do when you visit the UK? Will you get her a pet passport? -- Janet Tweedy Dalmatian Telegraph http://www.lancedal.demon.co.uk |

We will get a pet passport as we have a large estate car with a doggy section, the car comes with it, it's called a cargo net and goes up between the boot and the back seat. Both our daughters are looking forward to meeting her. Judith |

If you have a large dog then a proper dog guard is better Judith . I have a cargo net and besides trying to chew it my dogs could still come forward a fair amount if I put the brakes on suddenly She sounds lovely though and I am sure she'll soon be digging up your newly planted plants very soon -- Janet Tweedy Dalmatian Telegraph http://www.lancedal.demon.co.uk |
