Flower ID
"Bob Hobden" wrote in message ... "Sacha" wrote David Hill is our resident Dahlia expert on urg and runs a Nursery specialising in them, so with luck he'll be along to give an ID. Strangely my first thought when I saw the picture was "Chrysanthemum". -- Regards Bob Hobden just W. of London My first reaction, too. My second reaction was that it wasn't a natural colour, but a dyed plant. Might be wrong, though. Spider |

David Hill Abacus Nurseries I've sent it on to you, David - don't know if it will work. I hesitate between chrysanthemum and Dahlia but I tend more towards Dahlia only because of the coloration and how it's formed. -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.com Shrubs & perennials. Tender & exotics. So - I'll do my best to describe this and maybe others can correct or add. No leaves are visible which hinders ID of Chrysanth or Dahlia. If it IS a Dahlia I'd guess it's what's called a medium sized Decorative. I say this with supreme ignorance. The body of the flower is white or possibly pale lavender but has a pink/red flush to the petals at the base which doesn't appear to follow up to the tips or centre. Unfortunately, the flowers photographed seem to be dying off which may affect their colour register in the photo and we have no view of the centre. -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.com Shrubs & perennials.
