Default Potatoes for christmas

Hi. I have some nadine seed potatoes left over from this year. Is it possible to plant these in a potato barrel in the autumn for potatoes at christmas ? If not can anyone recommend a variety that i can plant.

I would not be happy if someone gave me potatoes for Christmas! Even
sock and handkerchiefs would be more welcome lol
