Default Grass Killer (weedkiller)

Anything out there that can kill grass and everything else down to the roots
and have the soil free for planting in a month's time?

would appreciate any ideas.....sodium chloride doesnt seem to do the job
well enough.

thanks.

Did you mean sodium chloride (common salt) or sodium chlorate (weedkiller).
Either way they will poison the soil for months.
There are some weedkillers that can be sprayed onto foliage that will kill all
weeds (grass included) and you can plant up in a months time - Memory fails, but I
think one is called "Roundup" but I'm not sure. Have a look at your garden centre
or DIY store - there are definitely weedkillers to do what you need.

Who said gardening was easy?
Weedkiller costs money.
You spend a month on treatment.
Then you have to turn the soil over.
Or,
Dig it over and weed as you go.
Job done.

Don't kid yourself that every last weed will be removed by either
treatment.
Ritualistic weeding is part and parcel of gardening.
