Default ID a plant...Please ?

Possibly thalictrun aquilegifolium? But I'm not sure and probably
about to be shot down in flames by those who know better. Any chance
of close-ups of flowers and leaves?

Thalictrum aquilegifolium has purple flowers. (I checked my file of
digital photos before proposing Thalictrum speciosissimum.)

Yes - that's why I wasn't quite sure.... but having just come back from
the pub, I wasn't about to get the gardening books out to check. It was
a close guess tho'! :-)

I have Thalictrum flavum in my garden, just coming to bud opening, and it looks very much like it.

Yup...
Springtime, it shows up grows to about a foot and then pauses,
and then next thing you know it's 4ft high,
and then it starts to fall over because it cant stand up in a breeze.
dies off, brittle leftovers.
Cut it back to ground level and just wait.
(repeat every year)

spring arrives. I think it's T. flavum ssp. glaucum.

Bingo!!

I take it that a close up of the leaves
helps in the ID process as well then?

I seem to have acquired what I have been thinking was corydalis flexuosa
but instead it's turned into a lovely Thalictrum really tiny but with
lots of little tiny flowers, can't be more than a couple of inches high.
Which Thalictrum could it be?
