I've grown borlotti beans for a couple of years, and kept some of the seed
for re-use.

This year, they seem to have separated into two types. I assume this is
because the original seed (I no longer have the packet) were an F1 and now
they're reverting. Is it safe to assume that both lots are OK to use as
normal?

This is the means by which Multi-national companies lock you into buying their seed stock. You tend to get higher yields from hybrids, but require to buy their seed stock every year.

No "F" hybrid variety breeds true to type, it reverts to the parental stock which can be from many sources.

It is preferable to grow heirloom seed stock and use Rootgrow or similar product to increase yield, by this means you can seed save and protect endangered species of crops.
