Default OT (sort of) The New Rose by Spike Milligan

I think that most of you will appreciate it as I did when I came across it,
you sweem that sort...

The New Rose

The new rose
trembles with early beauty
The babe sees the beckoning carmine
the tiny hand
clutches the cruel stem
The babe screams
The rose is silent
Life is already telling lies.

Spike Milligan London 1967

BTW saw a brown butterfly (to far away to identify) in bright sunshine this
afternoon. Merseyside
