I doubt if the consumer has been consulted properly. If you show the
"person in the street" a plate on straight and a plate of curly beans
and ask which they prefer, you would almost always get straight as an
answer.

If you told them that they taste the same, and the curly ones are
cheaper, they'll prefer curly!

Yes, what a fantastic observation you made, all by yourself. Well done!

Wonderful story about Tomatoes on sale here on the Isle of Wight.

Greengrocer's shop with two baskets of Tomatoes. One Isle of Wight Tomatoes,
one Tomatoes from "England"

Both the same price.

Customer "Which are the best?"
Shopkeeper "The IOW ones"
C "Why are they the same price?"
S "They are better"
C "Why are those from 'England' the same price?"
S "Transport from England"
