It was a mild winter...
A couple of days ago I had a look at the tubs and boxes which will soon
get their summer plants, as it won't be too long before the violas and polyanthus will be over their best. I was amazed to see last year's fibrous begonias pushing through! I've also found a couple of pelargoniums which have survived the winter at the bottom of a sheltered south-facing wall, and are beginning to send up new growth. It will be interesting to see if these survivors do as well as this year's new plants. -- Jeff |

We have one Pel (Doris Moore) that has been flowering of sorts through the winter, it's in a large pot on our North facing patio tucked in the corner against our house and garage walls. Now growing into a very healthy looking plant that will have to be cut back, two Gazanias have also survived in the same pot. -- Regards. Bob Hobden.
